Two people have been killed and four wounded in separate car bombing in southern Thailand.
The blast ripped through a shopping area, setting fire to a commercial building in the small town of
Sungai Kolok, which is close to Malaysia.
Four residents escaped to the top of the complex and were rescued by fire crews.
The explosives had been packed in a vehicle parked on the street and was triggered as people
gathered at a morning market.
Meanwhile, in the nearby province of Yala, a local resident was killed in a roadside bombing.
Authorities had warned that militants were likely to attempt a large-scale attack ahead of the Muslim
holy month of Ramadan.
