Accused: Olive Hazel Maddock, 61, left, and her daughter Jasmine Maddock, 35, allegedly kept the body of 95-year-old Olive in their home for up to a year

It could be a scene right out of the movie Pyscho.

A mother and her daughter allegedly kept a dead grandmother's body in their home in the United Kindom for several months... to claim her pension.

The Daily Mailreported Olive Hazel Maddock, 61, and her daughter Jasmine Maddock, 35, are charged with preventing the decent and lawful burial of 95-year-old Olive Maddock between January 1 and August 2 last year.

Suspicions were aroused when a neighbour became concerned after not seeing grandma Maddock for some time.

Police are thought to have found her remains in the decrepit house.

Olive Maddock has appeared as an extra in soaps such as Hollyoaks and Brookside.

Neither of the women entered a plea.

Sat apart during the brief hearing, they spoke only to confirm their names, addresses and dates of birth.

Residents said the late pensioner Maddock was once a familiar figure around the family home, where she lived with television extra Hazel and granddaughter Jasmine.

Olive Maddock also stands accused of one count of fraud in connection with her dead mum's pension.

Both women were granted unconditional bail and must appear at Liverpool Crown Court on January 20 for a preliminary hearing.

Neighbours described dead Maddock as an eccentric but well-liked old lady who was often seen walking around outside her house and giving gifts to local children.

Julie Palmer said, "Her husband was a professor of naval engineering. He died about ten years ago and the house began to go downhill from then.

They had always been eccentric but then they went weird. Hazel would always talk to people. She was chatty."
