I regretted spending time before the telly watching the "Talking Point" show hosted by Daniel Martin.

It was about Smoking and those "lucky people" who managed to get through the "always busy hotline" were responding with "THEIR PERSONAL VIEWS"

Readers may recall that yesterday one particular caller (a lone ranger) spoke up for the rights of the smokers and suggested that those who cannot take the smoke can shut their windows to prevent smoke entering into their homes.

Just because the caller concerned made such remarks and was pro-smoking, Daniel literally "took that caller to task" and had the gall to grille him over his beliefs. Martin behaved like some KGB and CIA interrogators from the Krushchev and Kennedy era. He even mentioned that caller to the other "pro anti-smoking" supporters who called up.

I couldn't get through the line and if I had been given a chance, I would have blasted him and his sheepish panel members that smoking is alright as compared to the haze and other unhealthy substances that we breathe daily. I would also tell him that the "highly concerned" government shoyuld have a TOTAL BAN on cigarettes and not benefit from the high excise taxes on tobacco products.

How stupid can these Nation be to believe that painted areas in yellow are safe for non-smokers seated outside it. Tourists are laughing AT US FOR OUR STUPIDITY.

Daniel Martin is NOT a proffessional. He should remain NEUTRAL in any conversation and NOT jump on the bandwagon that carries or conveys the Government beliefs.

The last time the subject on Mosquitoes was also a failure.

Most importantly, the guy's body language tells of his disdain for the callers. He should be removed at once.

Didn't watch the show either. Was a smoker from teenage till 39 years old. A habit of a pack or more a day and quit cold turkey just before I had my kid. Now, am neither pro nor anti tobacco. I take it that smoking is a personal choice. Smokers should be conscious of the place they smoke so that non-smokers are not subjected to second- hand smoke. Other than that, let the trends and fashion of the day make its course. As for the host Daniel Martin, let his boss decide.

Actually Daniel ok. The worst one is that Bharati Jagdish. She cuts you off if she dont like your views! She should get off the show and join the censorship board or something.
