Dalai Lama Reincarnation Statement: China Claims Tibet Buddhist Leader Does 'Not Respect' Religion

By Shuan Sim @ShuanSim [email protected] on March 09 2015 10:20 AM EDT

The Dalai Lama was denounced Monday by the Chinese-appointed governor of Tibet after suggesting that he will not be reincarnated. Tibetan Buddhists believe that the souls of their leaders are reborn in children upon death, and the People's Republic of China -- an officially atheistic regime -- has said the religious tradition must continue.
"If the central government had not approved it, how could he have become the 14th Dalai Lama? He couldn't. It has a serious procedure," said Tibet regional governor Padma Choling, an ethnic Tibetan himself, according to Reuters. "I think that, in fact, he is profaning religion and Tibetan Buddhism," he said on the sidelines of an annual meeting of parliament, adding that the Dalai Lama was trying to usurp Beijing's right to decide.
"If he says no reincarnation, then no reincarnation? Impossible. Nobody in Tibetan Buddhism would agree to that. We must respect history, respect and not profane Tibetan Buddhism," Choling said. His statements were some of China’s strongest comments on the topic of Dalai Lama’s succession to date.
The 14th Dalai Lama, in exile in India since 1959 after a failed uprising against Chinese Communist rule, said last September that his title could end when he dies because he felt Tibetans didn’t need a Dalai Lama anymore. "If a weak Dalai Lama comes along, then it will just disgrace the Dalai Lama," he told German newspaper Welt am Sonntag. He also said that even if he were to be reborn, he would not be reincarnated in Tibet if the country is not free and that no one, including the Chinese government, has a right to choose his successor for “political ends,” according to Reuters.
The Dalai Lama’s supporters fear that Beijing might simply appoint its own successor after the current Dalai Lama’s death, as the central government has said it has inherited the right to sign off on reincarnations. China placed 6-year-old Choekyi Nyimaa under house arrest in 1995 after the Dalai Lama named the boy as the reincarnation of the previous Panchen Lama, the second-highest authority in Tibetan Buddhism, and installed Gyaincain Norbu in his place. Norbu is “despised by Tibetans as a puppet of Beijing,” according to nonprofit news Radio Free Asia.
China has considered Tibet under its rule since the 1959 uprising, and established the so-called Tibetan Autonomous Region in 1965. Beijing has dismissed accusations of repression of Tibetan Buddhism and culture, instead claiming that it has ended serfdom and helped developed what they called a poverty-stricken region, according to Reuters.

Nothing China can do about it. The Dalai Lama is exiled. If Tibetan Buddhism is so true, then the Dalai Lama would not end up being exiled.

This shows clearly that Tibetan Buddhism is just a belief and is not true, just like the Pope with so many followers, but it's just tradition and nothing else.

These followers are stoopid and believe in a big fat lie and some even kill and commit suicide for it. The cunning ones will use it to sodomize young boys.

China doesn't have to do anything, they hold the aces. It is the Dalai Lama who has to change his stance if he wants to return to Tibet, or seeing it China's way, to have Tibet returned to the Dalai Lama. Nobody is on his side (apart from Richard Gere). I do not know how the Tibetans feel about their situation, I don't think they have a voice under Beijing's rule, but nobody cares.

This is China's official view:

Chinese official urges Dalai Lama to "forsake evil ways"

English.news.cn | 2015-03-11 11:16:25 | Editor: huaxia

BEIJING, March 11 (Xinhua) -- A senior Chinese religious official on Wednesday urged the Dalai Lama to "forsake his evil ways and return to the good," stressing that Tibet will not descend into chaos.
"We hope the Dalai Lama can abandon his separatist stance and his deceptive 'middle way' approach," said Zhu Weiqun, head of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), China's top political advisory body.
The core contents of the "middle way" approach, proposed by the political exile in the 1980s, are "Greater Tibet" and "high-level autonomy" of the southwestern Chinese autonomous region.
Zhu, also a member of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC National Committee, called on the Dalai Lama and his followers to stop inciting self-immolation among the Tibetan people and sincerely discuss with the central government about the future of himself.
He reiterated that the central government will not talk about Tibet's "high-level autonomy" or the "Greater Tibet" with him.
Chinese authorities have said that the door for dialogue with the Dalai Lama is always open but when the dialogue will be held depends on the attitude of the Dalai Lama.
Over the past years, fewer world leaders met with the Dalai Lama who have been trying to visit different countries and regions, Zhu said, attributing the monk's growing unpopularity to the development and stability of Tibet in recent years, and the rising living standards of the Tibetans.
"We hope that the Daila Lama's visits will not affect the development of the good relationship between China and relevant countries," the official said.

Cheers!

Ya. It is. Religion, or at least organized religion has seen its days. Even many people who belong to a faith just say so because they were born into it, but the majority of them are more concerned about other issues and say they believe so as not to displease their parents. Some extremist (eg. IS, Al-Qaeda members) are frustrated buggers who have rejected society and taking out their anger on innocent folks, they are not religious, just wayward deviants and radicals. I just wonder how instituitions like the Roman Catholic church are going to dispose of all their accumulated wealth over the centuries?

Cheers!
