Dad acquitted of rape; girl trying to move on
Teen 'more aware of her surroundings now'

The girl of 19 whose father was acquitted of raping her has told The Straits Times she is standing by her claims.
The reserved student said she was now afraid when she went out, and had become more aware of her surroundings.
Her father was sentenced in 2010 to 29 years in jail and 24 strokes of the cane after being convicted of raping and molesting her.
But the 37-year-old odd-job labourer walked out of Singapore's highest court a free man last month after being acquitted of all charges.
In an interview at her two-room flat, his daughter said: 'I felt relieved when at that time it was over. But now, I need to keep myself safe. How I think of guys is affected. I am more aware of my surroundings.'
