A cyclist died in an accident with a car in Tampines on Monday (Feb 10) morning.

The deceased's family, via a family friend, made a social media post appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage of the accident.

In response to AsiaOne's queries, the police said that they were alerted to the accident, which occurred along Tampines Avenue 9 towards Tampines Avenue 2, at around 7.45am.

The accident involved a 61-year-old male cyclist and a 47-year-old male driver.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) conveyed the unconscious cyclist to Changi General Hospital, where he subsequently died.

The police arrested the driver for driving without reasonable consideration causing grievous hurt.

Investigations are ongoing.

Knn why always driver fault when cyclist always creat accident, feel that now should hv a law to actually no biase against driver, also now law minister busy wizh his 88m investment n black white house, lol

singapore roads cannot cycle one lah...that's why i cycle on pcn and footpath....
There are too many drivers who are impatient or lack awareness of their surroundings when switching lanes or turning at crossroads. The side swiping of bikers and cyclists is common. I was a motorcyclist in my younger days before I could afford a car, and once had a lady driver knock me off my bike when she drifted into my lane.

Singapore road is too narrow

Singapore road design is more like snake-n-ladder
Last minute pop up rubbish truck or cut tree man

That's why I gave up cycling. My bicycles are now wall art, collecting dust.

Lots of money spent building PCNs, widening pedestrian walkways for cyclists. Just oil your bike again, pump up the tyre's and get moving....
