Cybercafe robbery bid fails
IPOH: Police fired several shots at five armed men, who tried to rob a cybercafe in Teluk Intan on Monday, forcing them to flee empty-handed.
State Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Dzuraidi Ibrahim said one of them was believed to be wounded as police found bloodstains in the vicinity.
"I have appealed to hospitals, private medical centres and clinics to contact the police if anyone sought treatment for gunshot wounds at their premises."
He said when policemen arrived at the cybercafe at 11.20pm on Monday, the robbers, armed with machetes, were holding up two of the workers.
"One of our men fired a warning shot after the robbers tried to attack the team. The robbers made their getaway in a waiting car."
