Croupier, accomplice to be charged with cheating

SINGAPORE: A 40-year-old man who works as a croupier for Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) Casino, and his accomplice, a 65-year-old Singaporean man, will be charged in court on Wednesday (Jul 15) with cheating.

In a news release, the Singapore Police Force said on Tuesday the casino operator had reported that one of its croupiers was cheating the casino by colluding with a patron at the gaming table.

On the same day, officers arrested the croupier and his alleged accomplice. Casino chips worth S$6,000 and other items believed to be used by the suspects to facilitate their crime were also seized.

Both suspects will be charged in court with cheating at play. If convicted, they face a fine of up to S$150,000, or up to seven years in jail, or both.
