A crew member for a multimillion dollar private yacht owned by Red Sox owner John Henry has apparently committed suicide aboard the vessel. The victim, who is between 28 and 30, was found in cardiac arrest after firefighters and police raced to the Iroquois, which is docked in Rowes Wharf in Boston, around midday on Monday. They attempted to revive him but he was later pronounced dead, Boston police spokeswoman Cheryl Fiandaca said.

It was not immediately clear who placed the 911 call. Authorities have also not released the man's name or the manner of his death. The yacht is docked at 30 Rowes Wharf, behind the Boston Harbor Hotel, near the city's financial district.
High ranking police officials, including police Commissioner Ed Davis, were spotted on the multimillion-dollar vessel on Monday afternoon, WCVB reported. The Red Sox issued a statement saying that a crew member 'apparently took his life aboard the vessel', adding that only crew were on the yacht at the time, the Boston Globe reported. It added: 'Mr. Henry and the members of the Boston Red Sox are saddened by the news and send deepest condolences to his family.'

John W. Henry, 63, is a billionaire commodities and foreign exchange trader, who bought the Red Sox for $700 million in 2002. He is also the principle owner of Liverpool Football Club in England and owns NASCAR team Roush Fenway Racing.
He is chairman John W. Henry & Co. Inc., a hedge fund he founded in 1981. The team has won two World Series during his tenure, the first in 2004 after an 84-year title drought.
According to Forbes in 2011, his 164-foot private yacht was being sold for $28.75 million.
Henry married his second wife aboard the boat in 2009 before hosting a reception at Fenway Park.
