Crematorium worker axed to death
JOHOR BARU: A crematorium worker was hacked to death during a scuffle with a co-worker at the Hindu Cemetery in Kebun Teh here. Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Zainuddin Yaacob said the incident occurred at around 1.15pm yesterday after both men were involved in an argument.
“The 32-year-old man was hacked in the neck with an axe by his co-worker, and bled to death at the scene,” he said yesterday. ACP Zainuddin said initial investigations revealed that the 54-year-old suspect had 10 prior criminal cases for theft and drug-related offences.
He said police had detained the suspect and retrieved the murder weapon at the scene. He said the case has been classified as murder.
