After I was recently retrenched with minimal benefit, I went to ah long for some cash to tide me over until i find a new job but found that it was almost impossible

The terms are the same 20% upfront plus weekly roll and reset if bounce

But now they are vvery strict and I found I was unable to qualify, even ah long says no to me

But I have found a new resilience

I haven't told my family I lost my job and I still keep them ignorant so that they can feel safe and secure

I will find something soon

Hmm maybe only that money lender from what I see at my block's lift landing there used to be only 1 address that the money lender keep pestering. Now I see multiple addresses and different money lenders are pestering different houses.

The Ah Longs are, perhaps, doing you a favour after all. At 20% interest, not sure if able to get another job, you might drag your family into it, with all the splashing of paints and harassment.

Just a word of caution to borrow from them.

when life was good and you were earning good pay did you save?

or did you squander by going on holidays, buying expensive cars and not prepare for rainy day

a lot of singaporeans get into debt for stupid reason, don't know how to save, always spend spend spend

you deserve it because you have no discipline

the ah long can smell a chow seow a mile away

drive taxi lah but be hardworking, dont be like those jokers everyweek three days at turf club then say no money life very tough

Must also use your vote properly. Having the opposition in parliament is obviously necessary to prevent the many blunders thats going on.

Most Ah Longs in Singapore have connections in the grassroots. Why do you think the big bosses of Ah Longs are NEVER caught?

Garment never take enough money from you ah? You now want to make the "por lumpars" even richer ah?

NEVER NEVER BORROW FROM AH-LONGS. No matter how desperate you are.

Do not drag your family into the mess.

You should be honest with your family and tell them you lost your jobs. That way, sit down and see how all of you as a family can CUT down on daily or monthly expenses. PLUS, do not gamble on horses or football ok?
