SINGAPORE: Police have arrested a couple for stealing metal door plates and dustbin covers at Changi Airport.
At about 1.40am Saturday, police officers spotted the couple behaving suspiciously at the South Finger Pier of Terminal 2.
They noticed the Indian man moving from toilet to toilet in the area while the woman was acting as a lookout.
This aroused the suspicion of the officers who searched the vicinity after detaining the couple as they were about to leave the area.
Police found metal door plates missing outside one of the toilets the man had entered earlier.
After a thorough search, four metal dustbin covers were found missing near a staircase landing in the same area.
All four metal plates and dustbin covers with a total value of about $5,000 were recovered.
The suspects are believed to be linked to at least four similar thefts at Changi Airport over the past month.
