Couple charged with abuse of Filipino maid

A couple were charged in court on Wednesday with causing hurt to their Filipino maid.
Jayaceilia K. Varso, 35, is accused of pulling the hair of Ms Lilia Nieva Duculan and forcefully holding her hands apart to pin her to the floor and then pulling her to the kitchen toilet on March 4, 2011.
The second charge states that she grabbed and squeezed the neck of the domestic worker, held her right forearm and dragged her to the kitchen toilet on March 9, 2011.
Ram Gerthi Dadhi Bal Yaday, 41, who is in the insurance industry, allegedly helped his wife cause hurt to the maid by holding onto Ms Duculan's legs to pin her to the floor.
