Couple believed to have stolen from swimming complexes arrested

A couple have been arrested for allegedly stealing from Ang Mo Kio and Yio Chu Kang swimming complexes over 11 days from Sept 29 to Oct 9.
The 40-year-old man and 29-year-old woman stole about $600 in cash. In most of the cases, the victims' bags were stolen after they left them on the bench before going for a swim or other activities.
The man is also believed to be involved in two separate cases of snatch theft and robbery with hurt. In those cases, he targeted lone victims taking lifts up to their residences and stole their handphones. The total worth of the stolen handphones was $2,000.
They were arrested in Ang Mo Kio on Monday at about 11.30am.
