Couple arrested for committing series of car sales scams

Published on Nov 16, 2012

Police on Thursday arrested a couple suspected to have committed a series of scams involving car sales.

The victims were car dealers who were tricked into believing that the 27-year-old woman and 54-year-old man - intended to sell their car.

After agreeing on a selling price, the suspects would request for an advance payment, while agreeing to hand over the car at a later date.

Car dealers would then hand over the cash to the suspects only to discover later that the couple could not be contacted anymore, and the promised car undelivered.
