Corruption will set in when there is too much power concentrated on a selected few.
In a real democratic System, The problem will be taken care of every election year provided the corruption have not become too intertwined with the populace through subversive means.
Those corrupted by power will always want to keep the status quote in their favour and thus it's always wise to keep options open if all else fails.
From mr brown show
Tony Benn lists five questions we should ask any powerful person:

What power have you got?
Where did you get it from?
In whose interests do you use it?
To whom are you accountable?
How do we get rid of you?"

What power have you got?
Absolute Power

Where did you get it from?
Cunning Political Maneuvers, deception, media control, unfair election, financial destruction on opposition and legalized corruption.

In whose interests do you use it?
Mine own interest, to hang on to power for as long as I can and to control billions of $ under my manipulation.

To whom are you accountable?
No One

How do we get rid of you?"
You can't, I win in every election, Like my counterpart in N.Korea and Cuba.

I don't see how a democratic country can stop corruption. There are more then enough democratic countries which have corrupted governments for me to count. I think pple should realize that democracy and corruption free government doesn't necessarily comes hand in hand.

open-wound-beggar.jpg

It is one I took last year while in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, of a street-beggar.
The photo is un-touched and is straight out of my Kodak DC-290 Digital Camera.

The Story:
In some countries, poor people mutilate themselves (and sometimes their
children - India & Egypt) in order to obtain sympathy from overseas tourists
and hopefully be provided greater cash donations.

This particular individual has perfected a way of cutting the surface of his
skin to provide maximum visual impact while probably not causing serious injury.

Others, or so I am told, go to greater extents, such as breaking leg bones and
ensuring the bone protrudes out of the flesh.

what is even worse is that the corrupted govt is an authoritative regime and you can't remove it through legal means like voting them out.

You can remove it through legal means like voting them out.
It's simply that 66.6% chose not to.
