IPOH - The 32-year-old saleswoman who claimed that she was sexually harassed by a police officer here has refused to cooperate with police to investigate the matter.
Perak CPO Deputy Comm Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahlan said the woman, who claimed that the officer had sent her lewd SMSes asking to have sex with her, has refused to have her statement recorded and to hand over her mobile phone to police.
"She wanted to refer to her lawyer first," said DCP Mohd Shukri.
The woman had claimed she was almost raped by a childhood friend and lodged a report at the Jalong police station in Sungai Siput on Nov 29.
She claimed that a deputy superintendent who was investigating the case had sexually harassed her with lewd SMSes.
The DSP, she alleged, also threatened to take action against her for lodging a false report after she did not respond to his advances.
DCP Mohd Shukri said police had contacted the woman several times to surrender her phone but were unsuccessful.
"Her claims that police had deleted some messages in her mobile phone are untrue," he said.
