Cops among those held in karaoke raid
KUALA LUMPUR: Fourteen police officers were among those detained when police raided a karaoke outlet in Taman Maluri here Saturday.
The raiding party also discovered many Muslims among the 118 revellers screened at the karaoke outlet, popularly known as Laiketong.
Drug tests conducted revealed 21 women and 16 men had tested positive for Ketamin, Eramin 5 and syabu. The women included three Indonesians and one from Laos.
Asst Supt Mahani Mohamed of the Kuala Lumpur vice, gambling and secret society branch (D7), who led the raid, said that the outlet often opens till noon when its licence only allowed it to open until 2am.
