Cooling day story

Dear sons and daughters of Singapore

Lee Kuan Yew once told reporters that Singaporeans are daft and ignorant people. I fear it may just come to past after polling day he could be right if majority voters mandated PAP again.

Over the last many years, many forums and bloggers were sprung up because there was danger out there, a white tiger ran loose hurting and preying on Singaporeans. It was beyond everyone power to stop this mischievious tiger because the people had given it the power to do as it pleased and the number of victims increased. There were huge frustrations and anger by people and they started to make plans ahead and path way to nab the tiger if opportunity comes.

After 5 years, the opportunity came, this white tiger lost its power and were caught by the opposition parties. The tiger cries and begged for mercy from the people and promised not to hurt anyone again if we set him free.

However the opposition warned the people of the danger and suggested that these tiger must be chained and kept under watchful eyes. People now have to decide whether to keep the opposition parties or let the tiger loose again.

On 7th may, your vote will decide, not just for yourselves, but the lives of those less fortunate family around you. If we dismissed the opposition out of pity or fear of the white tiger, we might not find the same credible tiger hunters 5 years later.

I urged Singaporeans to vote wisely. The tiger may not come to you now because you may be more fortunate than others but surely and slowly you will be his next target in a matter of times. Remember the tiger’s slogan to you – no one will be left behind.

Oppositions have given you the choice, empower it wisely, otherwise you will not see another daylight again!

VOTE FOR OPPOSITION! VOTE FOR YOUR VOICES TO BE HEARD IN PARLIAMENT! VOTE FOR CHANGE!

I pray and hope that Opposition have more than 33% SEATS in Parliament! It'll be a great start!

this whole week, i feel much happier that the opposition candidates are finally giving voice to my resentments & frustrations about life in singapore, esp within the last 5 years ...

the crowds in public buses & trains even during non-peak hours, are truly annoying ...

feeling alienated when i hear foreign tongues everywhere ... esp jarring inside a crowded bus/train/library ... are they the 'alien' or me ?

i normally hate crowds but i enjoy the crowded atmosphere @ rallies ... didnt hear any foreign tongues there, what a relief ! for once !

my resentments were all bottled up inside me, and i kept wondering - how come my fellow singaporeans don't seem to mind ? they all have this apathetic, expressionless look on their face ... but when they clapped & cheered @ opposition rallies, i felt the sense of belonging & patriotism returning - something which i hadnt felt for a long time... at last, i feel myself to be a citizen of a country again ... instead of a guest @ 'Hotel S'pore' or an employee of 'S'pore Inc' ...

as a result of my alienation, i was saying cynical things like 'im living in singabloodypore' .... or 'if theres a war, im on the 1st plane out of this shit-hole etc etc' ...

during this week of campaigning and in the presence of so many good calibre opposition candidates, i rediscovered my country again ...

thank you, opposition candidates !
