Convenience store robbery solved in just eight hours
KUALA TERENGGANU: It was all in a day’s work for police here after they wrapped up a robbery case within eight hours with the arrest of three men, including two private college students. Terengganu police chief Datuk Mohd Shukri Dahlan said the suspects, aged between 20 and 39, were arrested a few hours after the hold-up of a convenience store in Geliga at about 6am on Monday. “This is among the best and fastest successes of our police force,” he told reporters at the state police headquaters here yesterday.

In the incident, two men armed with knives and wearing full face helmets made off with two safe deposit boxes containing cash in a Perodua Myvi. Mohd Shukri said police arrested one of the suspects at a house in Taman Perwaja, Cukai, at 8.30am after tracing the licence plate number of the getaway car.
He said police then raided another suspect’s house in the same area and found him hiding in the ceiling. Following that, the police arrested the 39-year-old suspect, who is believed to have supplied the weapons for the robbery, at about 2pm.
