Today's Straits Times forum page has a writer 'Ng E-Jay' who said that the two scholars are really no big deal, that WP has possibly better talents except that they do not talk about it.
What E-Jay had not considered is that all the best talents in Singapore under the hands of WP had lost their elections. What is the use of talents if the leadership is lacking?
If E-Jay does not agree, keep score for this coming Election on WP's effectiveness.
What E-Jay had not considered is that these two scholars are the first in Singapore's Opposition and they belong to a new party under a visible leader.
KJ, unlike LTK and CST, has yet to prove himself to be incompetent.
With the Reform Party just starting out, the evidence is yet to emerge if it will become another Alternative Voice a la Worker's Party.
Perhaps with these two scholars, the Reform Party may yet become an Effective Voice.
With these comments, I disagree with Ng E-Jay. These two scholars in the Reform Party represent a hope for Singaporeans, a hope that only Worker Party with all their better talents can only fantasize.
