A company director was jailed eight weeks last Friday for fraudulently inflating his company's foreign-worker entitlement through the use of "phantom workers".
The Ministry of Manpower said yesterday that Singaporean Lim Seng Ong, 50, director of Asia Link Marine Industries, was prosecuted on 10 of the 100 charges he faced. The company was also fined $8,000 for failing to pay salaries and overtime payments due to its employees.
