Kreta Ayer Kim Seng constituency organised a mass reunion dinner for over 1000 needy residents, the elderly as well new citizens. It was a time of meaningful family reunion and get together. In the spirit of festive celebrations, Kreta Ayer Kim Seng constituency organised a mass reunion dinner for over 1000 needy residents and our elderly. Working in collaboration with Select, Singapore Flyer and Neo Film Studios, the event brought together low income families, new citizens as well a renewal wedding vows for some 50 couples. Chinese New Year is the happiest Chinese festival and <st1:place w:st="on">Chinatown</st1:place> being the key focal point in <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Singapore</st1:place></st1:country-region>’s celebrations certainly allows people to celebrate and soaked in the unique Chinatown festive atmosphere . Chinatown Chinese New Year Celebrations 2009 is especially significant as we aim to spread festive cheer, hope and happiness in the Lunar Year of the Ox to everyone. We do want to actively reach out to our needy residents during this downturn and to engage our new citizens. As we have organised many Lunar New Year festive events in <st1:place w:st="on">Chinatown</st1:place>, it’s an ideal chance for everyone to experience Chinese culture and traditions during the celebrations. Locals and visitors can also see what <st1:place w:st="on">Chinatown</st1:place> has on offer – not just during Chinese New Year, but all year round.”<o:p></o:p>

Leveraging on the CNY theme of "Hope and Happiness', we witnessed this longest married couple renewing their wedding vows complete with a kiss. Some 50 couples renewed their wedding vows during the dinner.</td></tr> <tr> <td>
