CNB seizes drugs worth over S$115,000, nabs nine suspects
SINGAPORE: The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) has seized drugs worth over S$115,000 in its latest operation.
CNB said the drugs, which include 1.07 kilogrammes of heroin and 18 grammes of "Ice", are enough to sustain about 512 abusers for one week.
CNB officers also nabbed nine suspects and seized more than S$28,000 in cash.
CNB said it arrested three men, aged 38 to 51, on Wednesday and is investigating them for drug trafficking activities.
The first suspect, a 51-year-old Singaporean, was spotted near Handy Road at about 1pm.
He was seen boarding a black car driven by a 38-year-old Singaporean.
Also in the car was a 43-year-old Singaporean passenger.
The 51-year-old suspect alighted from the car along Grange Road at about 1.05pm.
CNB officers moved in to arrest him and seized the drugs from his sling bag.
A digital weighing scale and cash were also found on him.
The other two suspects were arrested when the car they were in came to a halt at the junction of Tanjong Katong Road and Mountbatten Road at about 1.30pm.
CNB officers seized 27 grammes of heroin, a digital weighing scale and other drug paraphernalia from the home of the 38-year-old driver.
CNB said it also arrested six suspected drug abusers, two women and four men, in a follow-up operation.
Investigations are ongoing.
