Two women working for an African drug syndicate were arrested on Tuesday for trying to traffic 2.3kg of Ice through Singapore, the biggest haul this year.
The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) estimates that some 2.3kg of Ice with a street value of $460,000 was seized.
One of the women, a 29-year-old Malaysian, was nabbed at the Woodlands Checkpoint while allegedly trying to bring out the Ice, or crystal methamphetamine.
The crystalline substance was found in the inner lining of her suitcase, which was found in the trunk of the Malaysian-registered taxi she was in.
The car had been on its way out of Singapore when it was stopped for checks by Immigration and Checkpoints Authority and CNB officers.
