KUALA LUMPUR - A clerk was charged at the sessions court with raping and committing oral sex on a 21-year old sales promoter last month.
Nor Hafifi Omar, 26, was also charged with criminal intimidation towards the same victim by threatening to cause her death.
He pleaded not guilty to all three charges at the sessions court here today.
In the first charge, Hafifi was said to have raped the victim at a hotel room in Jalan Changkat Thambi Dollah, Dang Wangi, between 11pm on Oct 30 and 12.30am the next day.
For this offence, he faces up to 20 years in jail and can be whipped if found guilty.
He was also said to have committed carnal intercourse against the order of nature without consent against the same victim at the same time and place.
For this, he also faces up to 20 years in jail and possible whipping.
For the third charge of criminal initimidation, Hafifi could be jailed for up to seven years, or be fined, or both, if found guilty.
Deputy public prosecutor Ooi Chean Ling asked the court not to allow bail as the accused knew where the victim lived.
She added that past trends have shown that rape accused who were allowed on bail usually go on the prowl for new victims.
Nor Hafifi asked to be allowed on bail, adding that he did not know the sales promoter.
The court did not grant bail and fixed Nov 22 for mention.
