These gaps found on either side of the stairway at the newly opened Marymount MRT Station are a safety hazard.

Commuters might fall and injure themselves especially during peak hours, says STOMPer safety striken.

"These pictures were taken at the staircase that leads to the Marymount MRT station which was newly opened as part of the Circle Line.

"There are big gaps on either side of the stairs.

"During peak hours when crowds of several hundred commuters are surging forward, one or two commuters might be pushed to the side of the steps.

"When that happens they will slip and fall downwards as the slope is quite steep.

"I suggest that all steps be built to the edge without leaving any gaps and I believe that this is the safety concern of most commuters."
