My Foreign Ministry countered the US Congressman’s rumor: Willing to take the terrorists to the United States

"This US lawmaker is willing to do something real, to pick up those who are influenced by religious extreme thoughts and violent thoughts, and let them enjoy 'complete freedom' in the United States?!" Hua Chunying asked.

On December 21, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying hosted a regular press conference.

A reporter asked: According to reports, US Congressman Rubio and others issued a statement expressing deep concern over China's increased suppression of religious freedom of Christian believers. He also said that Xinjiang Muslims were detained and forced to work. China's "Chineseization" of all religions is causing destruction. Sexual influence. What is China's comment?

Hua Chunying: The nonsense statement of the US Congressman Rubio that you mentioned is really worthless. At most, there are still more examples of some people in the United States who have always been arrogant and self-righteous.

I just want to ask the Honourable Rubio two questions. First, does he know how many religions and how many religious citizens are there in China? He knows that China currently has five major religions: Buddhism, Taoism, Islam, Catholicism and Christianity. There are nearly 200 million religious citizens, about 144,000 legally registered religious venues, and more than 380,000 religious staff. Chinese citizens enjoy full freedom of religious belief in accordance with the law.

Second, has he been to China? Has he been to Xinjiang? Does he understand the role and significance of vocational skills training in Xinjiang in preventing the fight against extinction and de-extremism? He does not understand that radicalization and freedom of religious belief are completely different things! Does he know that Chinese local governments are adopting preventive counter-terrorism and de-extremism measures to protect more people from terrorism and extremism? ! In order to allow more ordinary people to fully enjoy the freedom of normal religious beliefs? Is he willing to do something real and take those who are influenced by religious extreme thoughts and treacherous thoughts to let them enjoy "complete freedom" in the United States? !
