A young Romeo in China who dated at least 17 women at once has been put under criminal detention for fraud.
The man from Changsha in south-central Hunan province made headlines last month after he was in a traffic accident and 17 women, who all claimed to be his girlfriends, turned up at the hospital, news portal Rednet.cn reported.
The women were stunned to find out they were going out with the same man, who was identified only by his surname Yuan.
They later set up an online chat group called “revenge alliance”, where they shared details of their relationship with Yuan and discovered that he would ask some of his girlfriends for money – sometimes large sums – every month.
He also had a son with one of the women.
After learning of Yuan’s arrest, the women changed their chat group’s name to “angels”. They would now move on with their lives, they said.
