In this war of attrition, Russia will lose. Russia has forgotten that it won WW2 solely thanks to the United States Land-Lease program. Without such a program, the Russians would never have the weapons and equipment to beat the Nazis. Today, the Russians are the Nazis and the Ukrainians are the recipients of the Land-Lease Program.

Actually i thought it was a distraction to destroy EU economy dominated by germany.
When russia withdrew from europe and germany were reunited, UK under margaret stated her wariness for a resurgent powerful germany.
Germany or EU, working closely with russia in a threat to anglo saxon hegemony.
