Beijing has handled its recent cluster of COVID-19 cases in a timely and effective manner, Wu Zunyou, chief epidemiologist at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said in an interview on Monday. "Virus strain (recently detected in Beijing) is a major epidemic strain in European countries. So, it is from outside of China, brought to Beijing," he said.
