In the forum page recently, someone wrote in to object about children's bad behaviour being blamed on single parent families and poor upbringing by the parents.
I can understand the objection about single parent families, there is no evidence or data to prove that the children from such families are more badly behaved.
But how can the bad behaviour of children not be blamed on poor upbringing by the parents? This must be the single most important reason why children are badly behaved. In fact, I think for every crime or indiscretion committed bu children, the parents should be even more severely punished. If bad behaviour from children doesn't come from the parents, then I really don't know what's the point in calling these people parents.

Children upbringing of cos related to parents.

Example:
A Chinese couple will scold the kid if he monkeys around in the AssMrt.

A Mat couple will just watch and bo chup.

This kind of difference will also apply to other aspects later on in life. BO CHUP your academic results. BO CHUP the people u hang out with.

yes,,,,according to the Christian's Old Testament: if the children is disobedient, follow the old testament, bring them to the elders, accuse them of another crime, and stone them to death?

I would be very much enlighten, which passage of the Bible says we accuse the children of another crime & stone them?

Proverbs 22:6 ( NASB)
Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.

That's absolutely untrue these days.
The typical chinese couple will probably be more kan cheong over exam results, but they are now spoiling their kids rotten as well and letting them run wild in public places.

i disagree with you that only single parent families will have problem children...

problem children exists when parents don't want to discipline their kids when they were young..

it's only when they start to discipline their kids only when they became adult...it's a bit too late...

it is interesting to note that those kids with little discipline from their parents became very successful in life like becoming CEO or Ministars....

And those goody two shoes just like normal occupation...:D
Who are you disagreeing with?
Did you read my post carefully?
I said very clearly that I don't agree that single parent families create problem children, didn't I?

I don't know if the old testament says that, but I am definitely in favour of severely punishing the parents of children who commit crimes and discretions, especially those which cause loss and hardship to others.

Agree, why blame the river for its toxins...go find the source...:p

So many more problem kids come from double-parent families and yet the stupid writer seems to conveniently ignore these facts :D

i don't think kids running wild at public places will cause loss and hardship to others...:D

I agree. Kids may be as bad brats as they come, as they have since Adam and Eve. Why are adults complaining now? Perhaps because they themselves have lost the ability to deal with kids or brats.

Do you have kids or had brought up kids before, Ramseth?

Why can't complain about kids behaving badly?

Must everything be like someone point a gun at u before u can complain?

Poke ur ass in public then can complain?

Personally, no. But I've got no problem with kids and brats. I've never laid a finger on them or raised my voice on them. I do have relatives and friends who have children. We get along. Sometimes, I do have to be firm and stern, admittedly, but nothing more than that.

I abide by the principle that it's neither my right nor duty to bring up other people's children or question how other people bring up their children.

I didn't say can't. I just say I don't.

:D Lim Kim San once said of his granchildren, "It is my right to spoil them and their parent's responsibility to straighten them out!":)

Well said and well quoted. A good candidate for the Oxford Dictionary Of Quotations.
