Chinese actress Xu Jiao, who played Stephen Chow's son in CJ7, finally graduates from university after spending 10 years in the US
Chinese actress Xu Jiao, who famously played Stephen Chow's son in 2008 hit comedy CJ7, took to Weibo last week to announce that she has finally completed her studies at the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California."In the blink of an eye, seven years have passed, I finally graduated!," wrote Xu Jiao, now 25, who majored in philosophy. According to her reply to a netizen who asked what academic degree she graduated with, she replied: "Bachelor of Fine Arts".
In her photos, Xu Jiao wore a white top with a bright orange skirt, her colour scheme matching the banners found at her graduation ceremony.
"Hehe, I put a little bit of thought into picking my outfit," she said.
According to reports, Xu Jiao moved to Illinois to attend high school in 2013.
Though it was supposed to take her seven years to complete high school and university, Xu Jiao took 10 years to finish her studies, no thanks to the pandemic. Guess that explains why she used the word 'finally' in her caption?
During the pandemic, Xu Jiao returned to China for a year, and only went back to California to complete her studies in January this year.
Earlier this month, the actress also shared on Weibo that her last lesson in school was spent in a mausoleum.
At that time, Xu Jiao also said that she would be returning to China to resume her showbiz career after graduation. She also told her fans to look forward to seeing her onscreen again.
Xu Jiao also graduated with flying colours.
In her recent post (Apr 29), Xu Jiao revealed that she scored 5 As and 1 A-minus, giving her a GPA of 3.958 out of 4.
When a netizen consoled Xu Jiao for getting an A-minus for her ‘Art of Thinking: Philosophy’ module, which prevented her from getting a perfect GPA, she replied: “Philosophy is too hard!”
