Chiam: Then & Now. Should he retire for health's sake?

Poor Chiam.
ST reported Dr Lee Boon Yang who sat next to him, gave him a helping hand when he struggled to get up from his seat to go to the microphone at yesterday's sitting.

On the one hand, I salute his courage from the bottom of my heart.
On the other hand, I wish to see him live a long healthy life, free from the stress of a politician's life.

I knew he had a stroke & has recovered. But to hear his slurring & mumbling is another thing altogether - very heart-wrenching. If he is my papa, I will urge him to retire.

But knowing him, he will go on.
Ultimately, so many still depend on him to carry on.

I do however hope that he will reconsider his decision to fight WKS. While WKS is unpopular, the demographics of Bishan-Toa Payoh are such it will be almost impossible for Chiam to win.

If Chiam wants to take down a GRC as his final contribuition to Singapore, he should select a GRC with a larger proportion of voters born after 1965.

Judging from his slur, the stroke must be pretty serious.
So his recovery to this day is already very remarkable.

For his sake, pls don't 'see see tong, tong until mati'. :(

The differences doesn't seem that distinct and the stroke hasn't affected him that much if you consider that he has never been the oratory speaker type. Chiam's strength has always been to bring up the right issues and his ability to manage his estate. I'm sure he has plenty of years to go.

The differences are quite distinct in my opinion. Look at his shoulders and minimum eye contact with his audience. I really salute him man. One leg still kicking.
