Chef looking for daughter missing for a week
KLANG: A 47-year-old chef is hoping for the safe return of his 18-year-old daughter who has been missing since last Thursday.
Wong Fook Wah said his daughter Wei Ting (pic) left home to meet some friends at a nearby shopping mall at 11am but has not returned.
“I didn’t suspect anything when she told me that she was going out with some friends,” he told reporters on Wednesday at Klang MP Charles Santiago’s office.
Wong has since lodged a police report.
He received a text message from Wei Ting’s handphone on Tuesday night, saying: “I am fine. I just need a few days to clear my head and get some rest.”
Wong, who has five other children, described Wei Ting as an obedient child who would often help him at his work place.
He said as far as he knew Wei Ting did not have a boyfriend.
