Squirrelled away in some industrial wonderland fronting the sub-arterial Toa Payoh Lorong 3, Chef Kang's Noodle House is one of two guerilla hawker spinoffs from acclaimed restaurateur Ang Song Kang's eponymous Michelin-starred establishment along McKenzie Road (other being Chef Kang's Prawn Noodle House sited close by at 85 Toa Payoh Lorong 4). Its menu offerings couldn't get any leaner: folks may order only char siew wanton noodles ($6), char siew wanton noodles plus shredded abalone ($11) or pork belly char siew served straight up ($12 per plate). Don't expect the culinary maestro himself to stick around these days either, for he has since entrusted all the cooking to a pair of time-tested apprentices - brothers Winson and Frankie Moo who confidently blanched, sieved and tossed their way to a virgin Michelin Bib Gourmand win last year.

The Michelin committee must be helmed by a bunch of libtards, who in their effort to embrace 'diversity' and 'inclusiveness', give out awards to what is essentially peasant food.

I can never fathom how the fuck a tire company gets to be the ubiquitous judge of food.
Why don't we hear of food getting praises from Dunlop, Continental or Bridgestone ?

Wanton noodles is economical food..$3.50 for small n $4.50 for large @most...

because the french tire company has been selling top tier tires in europe for decades, and motorists rely on automobiles with long lasting and reliable tires for long cross cuntry tours across the continent, thus a travel guide is born. and travel guide evolves into food and dining guide. it should remain in europe. the moment it branches into asia, corruption, collusion, cronyism becum commonplace between localized editors/judges and local proprietors. in sg, it’s now a cesspool of cocksuckers engaged in soixante neuf trying to pimp and pump up eateries to jack up their valuations in order to get mutually rewarded via quid pro quo.

Once you put a title "chef" before your name...price will at least double.

The cheapest one in Sinkieland is/was at Teban Gardens. $2 for small, $2.50 for medium, $3 for large. I haven't been there for more than a year, prices should have increased.

Do the people here prefer the 80s reddish charsiew or the darker red ones with burnt ends and fats? As for wanton nothing beats hk wanton...maybe those who have been to 顺德 can share their experience?
