Cement mixer driver charged with causing worker's death

A cement mixer driver was charged on Wednesday with causing the death of a worker at a reclaimed land in Tuas.
Mok Nyeong Lock, 60, a Malaysian, is accused of failing to keep a proper lookout while driving the truck on the reclaimed land near Tuas South Avenue 16 and hitting construction worker Rahman Kadar Sarder at 12.36am on Apr 15.
Mok, who intends to plead guilty, was offered bail of $10,000.
He will return to court on Nov 10. The maximum penalty is two years' jail and a fine.
