<!-- story content : start --> SINGAPOREAN celebrity chef Justin Quek, 48, was jailed for two weeks and fined $6,300 on Tuesday over drink driving and driving without a licence and proper insurance coverage along Holland Road last Aug 6. When stopped by police at about 3.45am and asked to take a breathalyser test, he was unable to provide a blood specimen.

The homegrown chef of Les Amis fame, who has just opened The Sky On 57 restaurant on the sprawling rooftop garden on the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands resort, was also convicted for driving driving without a licence and insurance coverage.

He smelled strongly of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and an unsteady gait when police stopped him. Quek left the Les Amis Group in 2004 and later started his own high-end restaurants in Taipei, where he is still based, Shanghai and more recently The French Window and Whisk in Hong Kong.
