Thank you Mr...er...Sir, for your post.
For biz enterprises, Labor COSTS are critical for the survival of a company & thus for an appointed Project Manager whose task is to look into the OVERALL aspect of a project, it is a high responsibility to oversee EVERY single detail or else it will be his rice bowl at stake, be fired for failures.
HOWEVER, looking at the facts of the case provided by you & other fellow members here, the question thus begs on WHAT exactly is this company Equinor is doing as well as its mgmt team's aspirations including its directors - to solely survive as a biz enterprise based upon dollar & sense, or the bigger picture of survival of a Nation which comes with higher responsibilities to citizens on OPPORTUNITIES.
At 1st glance, WHY was even that guy from India from a LOW RANKING university even hired? Was it because he was cheap?
No doubt costs are a consideration for a company's survival, but are the company's directors sleeping - if foreign talents are hired instead of FULLY QUALIFIED local grads for management posts, then WHO will buy their products & services from the company, as it WILL be locals whom are the biggest consumers, from already a small but safe & RULE OF LAW market in Singapore, a port city in an unique position on Earth where fairly SHARED OPPORTUNITIES abound?
May the bosses also realize - those foreigners have no stake in Singapore, even worse if PR status, as they would be entitled to buy HDB homes, med, education & most SOCIAL SERVICES FUNDED BY HONEST HARDWORKING CITIZENS, as when they had made pile$ if not already done so by remittances of funds to their Nation back home - which will cause a strain upon on our S$ dollar to prop up thru such losses as we are a high import economy for our own needs, they would just dust their sandal of Singapore dust & return to their homelands without a care.
It's fine if it is just one foreigner working here at OUR expense, but there are more than 2 million of such individuals here - just think of the harm it will do not only to our economy, but societal aspects as well.....
In truth, Uni grads are over-rated. So long as one is taught the 3 Rs - Reading, wRiting & aRithmathetic, any one can do the job to progress a company, as evident by Singapore's success within a mere 50+yrs. NOT many of our forefathers were grads, some with even just secondary school education.
As time goes by, Humanity evolved, & thus comprehensible a higher standard of learning, skills & mental discipline would be necessary to enhance a company, as a company is not a charity organization, but for everyone from CEO to receptionist to survive in a competitive worldwide market...
But a grad from a low ranking Uni be promoted to management level instead of a local from a much much more higher ranking Uni, & worse - the decision to instead of hiring locals but to hire incompetents from his own village, to promote a local company, with locals placed in low salary positions to achieve MOM quota on 3 citizens to 1 foreigner hire requirements ???? ( My apologies as this point is merely an assumption)
Thus, MOM & the insignificant nobody me hope NOT only this case be investigated, but many more others that went un - noticed & un reported, so as to help our locals. We leave none of our own behind, not after what our Founding & forefathers had worked so hard, so courageously despite ordeals, to give us our todays...
Thank you Sir, for bringing such to our notice & more be bold to speak up BUT WITH FACTS & EVIDENCES, unlike some who just talk plain BS...
