There's a spike because there is no natural immunity yet so deaths that were going to happen have been compressed into a shorter period of time.
We need to look at the excess mortality once the dust has settled.
I was looking at Sweden's stats and the death numbers don't look good. However once you look at the excess mortality beyond what is normal it actually looks pretty mild. Old people in rest homes die every day because they're old. It's just a fact of life.
I estimate that even in this few short months the excess mortality for the whole of Europe in the region of 130,000 and averaged out over the next year or so will show pretty normal figures.
