Saturday's rubbish Sports tabloid have a FULL FRONT PAGE photo of a 'rich' woman pushing her cart in Chinatown.

You guys should really see the spin.

BUT...the LEEPORTER made one BIG MISTAKE.

He quoted the old lady as saying " The children cannot take care of their own family. How can they take care of her.

it's teaching Singaporeans not to show empathy to people like her in future...

now you know why Singaporeans are indifferent to oppositions?

Rich with wealth and property, still want to struggle? Who's fault? You're poorer than her and yet still want to donate to her just because she choose to keep her wealth and struggle on? What logic is that? Your donation would just end up with her children after she passes on. Why would you want to contribute to an endowment for young people at their primes? The old folks who have money, still want to work and struggle, that's their prerogative and problem. The old folks who don't have money, that's who the government should look after and we should empathise with.

We have to be discerning. We shouldn't be misled into thinking that all old folks working and struggling have money just because of one piece of news. Neither should we blindly assume that all old folks working and struggling are poor and needy.
