3 held in Japanese tourist rape case

The Gaya police arrested three of the five accused of raping a Japanese tourist near Bodh Gaya on Friday.
Gaya Superintendent of Police Sushil Khopde identified the arrested men as Anuj alias Lutan, Pappu Kumar, from Amwan village in Bodh Gaya, and Uday, Pappu's cousin.
The Japanese tourist had taken an autorickshaw for bus stand and was waylaid by the driver. Three of the accused had followed them in another auto and raped her.
Pappu owned the auto hired by the woman and Anuj was the driver. Uday, employed with a private company in Gujarat, was on leave home. The police claim that the three have confessed to the crime. The other accused - Pintu, who goes by one name, and Rajan Yadav - are absconding.
The SP said on Sunday the chargesheet would be submitted soon and an identification parade carried out. Forensic experts have also reached Gaya to collect evidence.
Police recovered 2,300 yen, Rs 2,500, a cellphone and woman' s two credit cards from the accused. Her passport, however, has not been found.
Auto drivers I-cards
The district administration has decided to issue laminated identity cards to all auto rickshaw drivers operating between Bodh Gaya and Gaya.
With the huge influx of foreign tourists in Bodh Gaya and other adjoining areas, the administration will initially implement the safety measure in Bodh Gaya, district magistrate Sanjay Kumar Singh said.

The Japanese tourist is lucky. If she was in Saudi Arabia, she could have been jailed and caned for being raped. This must surely be her fault + one more crime for seducing those poor 5 guys with her immorality.

To be fair, we have our share of rape cases involving tourists as well.

Frankly, it has nothing to do with race. It's law and order in the country. If it were to happen in North Korea or some Eastern Europe countries, nobody would connect it with racism.

There were at least 2 incidents in Thailand last year, and the victims were murdered after sexual assaults.

Single women ought not to take safety for granted when travelling abroad.

okay firstly u mentioned we have rape cases in sg. Of course we cannot use racism in this context since there are many FTs and many of them are indians too and also the fact that sg has many local indians, you see my pt?


Why would nobody connect it with racism in NK or eastern europe? What do u mean? FYI north korean laws are pretty strict and i doubt anyone would dare commit such offences. Eastern europe has many gypsies and even if it was commited by an eastern european by virtue of them being white they get a good rep from the western europeans and the americans.


OKay i understand that the murder and rape cases took place in pattaya where many tourists abound and even foreign mobs like russian gangsters operate in there so obviously any of them could be the culprits not just the thais.


Indian men have a propensity to molest and rape and there are tons and tons of reports but hey okay i respect your right to want to be politcally correct.

Like can thailand be a chicken hub or at least pattaya be a chicken hub if the local thai gals don't want to be chickens? Why isn't saudi arabia for eg a chicken hub? Cause the locals over there don't want to be chickens. You see my pt and the correlation between this and india being a rape hub.
