The whole thing is childish. Just when a minister uses the phrase "Cheaper, better and faster" the whole labour force follows. This is indeed Singapore mentality. Why no one tells the minister that the word "cheap" is degrading. After reaching the so called "developed" country status now Sinkgapore slips back to "cheap."

How cheap can you go...you cna't beat China and India. Neither can you be better and faster than China...go and see how they work...the fast pace they work and the quality they produce.

With all the years of achivements in last 40 years by the first generation of politicians, now it just waste away.... CHEAP. CHEAP skite!

But under the new rules, children of abusive parents would have to pay only a reduced amount, or nothing at all, depending on how badly they were treated. The change, already approved by the cabinet, marks a dramatic break with Confucian tradition, which demands children defer to their parents under all circumstances. 'In traditional thinking, parents are always right, but the obligation to support them is really a relative concept,' an official with the justice ministry told AFP. 'It's unacceptable to force adult children to support parents who abused them when they were small.' It was unclear how children would go about proving abuse that lay years or even decades in the past. -- AFP
