I thought the whole idea of paying civil servants and ministers millions was so that high calibre individuals who wouldn't be "caught off guard" could be persuaded to come forward and serve the nation.

Should make T-shirt with nice design for all ages to buy and wear. "we caught" in front, "off guard" behind.

Belinda angry with kangaroos pictured T-shirts.....the poodles will find it offensive & charge you for being a public nuisance..

"Caught off guard" is a registered trade mark now....used only by higher mortals...:D

NSmen being caught off guard are sent to detention barracks.

What happened to our expensive long range Radar?

Caught off guard too!

Think need to readjust from long range to short range radar or even line-of-sight alert.

i.e. Stand behind Yaacob and watch him work.

I think the millions made them so high . That they forgotten and sometimes caught " off guard ".

Straight to DB? Not even once-in-lifetime freak accident excuse works????

You gotta admire his guts. How many people here dare to say that to your boss when something screws up?

Yayacoob should do C.W.O.? cleaning up the mess in Orchard Road... NO?:D

If he'd really pick up a broom and join the great Orchard Road clean-up even just for 5 minutes, then I worry for the opposition. The newspapers would blow up the picture up front page big-big and TV would keep repeating the footage once every hour over 48 hours.

L.K.Y. himself used to pull such publicity stunts in the early days. Sweeping roads and drains, planting trees etc. personally. However these days, the ministers assume that they'd sure win and couldn't be bothered with such chores to pull votes.

I have actually seen LKY in an open land rover way.......it was not only him doing that, Lim Kim San, Ong Pang Boon, Rajaratnam, Hon Shui Sen, Goh Keng Shui..Toh Chin Chye etc..use to do that, sweeoing the streets with a broom etc..

We are not talking about the these publicity stunts...but actually, rolling up the sleeve of the shirt & pants..actually helping in the clean up...organize a ministers goto royong ( hope I got it right spell)...clean up Orchard Rd...which inculde Jamban Lee as well...:D

Wasn't there one guy who went "off guard" when he was on guard duty?
No detention barracks for him.
