Elaine was buying dinner for her son at a coffee shop along Kiliney Road yesterday (Nov 18) when a man she walked past smacked her right on the butt.
The STOMPer was not dressed in anything sexy, and was merely wearing a casual T-shirt and shorts of decent length.
When she confronted the man who was sitting with his group of friends, none of them offered an apology.
In a phone interview with STOMP, the STOMPer said:
"It was around 6pm in the evening yesterday when I was crossing the road to buy dinner for my son at a coffee shop along Kiliney Road.
"It was drizzling slightly and I was holding onto an umbrella as I entered the coffee shop.
"I walked past this group of foreigners and that was when I felt a tap on my butt.
"This foreigner in a blue shirt and a white cap was the culprit who smacked my butt.
"I then proceeded to warn them sternly not to do it again.
"They did not, however, say a word of sorry, but had more of an expression of shock that I had confronted them.
"One of them said, 'whoa!', and that was it.
"While I was waiting for my order, I quickly snapped this photo of them.
"I wasn't even wearing any provocative clothes at that time. Just a casual attire of a T-shirt and and a normal pair of shorts, and this was not a pair of hot pants or anything like that.
"Say, even if this this is common in other countries, this does not apply here.
"I was not in a club where physical proximity is somewhat compromised, I was in a coffee shop just buying food!
"These cheap thrills in Singapore are definitely not pardonable.
"Respect our women."
