The number of young people killed by suicide has increased by 50% year-on-year. More than eight adults have "slowed from a height"
Hong Kong 01
July 28, 2018, 10:57 am

According to the report of the Coroner's Court, there were 916 suicide deaths in 2017. The suicide rate was 12.36, that is, 12.36 per 100,000 people committed suicide.

The number of suicides dropped by 38 from 954 in 2016, but the number of suicides aged 19 or below increased from 24 in 2016 to 36 in last year, an increase of 50%. More than 80% of suicidal youngsters chose From the heights, the Samaritan Suicide Prevention in Hong Kong will describe this trend worthy of attention. In the past, there was a 7-year-old child asking for help.

According to the report of the Coroner's Court, there were 916 suicide cases in 2017, a decrease of 38 cases compared with 2016. The suicide rate was 12.36, that is, 12.36 people per 100,000 people committed suicide. Among them, 569 were men, accounting for 62.12%. There are 347 women. Huang Yourong, chairman of the Samaritan Suicide Prevention Society of Hong Kong, said that male suicide rates are higher than females, or that it is more difficult for men to express their emotions.

The data showed that although the number of suicides fell in the past year, the number of suicides among young people aged 19 or below increased from 24 in 2016 to 36 in 2017, an increase of 50%. Among them, 83.33% chose "from a height" Your Majesty." Analysis of the Samaritan Suicide Prevention Society in Hong Kong, the data cited that this age group tends to break life with more intense suicide, and the trend is worthy of attention.

The number of young people who committed suicide has increased sharply compared with previous years.

The Samaritan Suicide Prevention Report recorded data from media reports and found that suicide was the highest for academic reasons, accounting for eight cases. Huang Yourong admits that the greater the social competition does bring pressure to school children, whether it is from the expectations of parents or the pressure of the students themselves, but also that the young people of every society in different ages will face the difficult situation of climbing up, but each has its own In addition to solving the current difficulties of young people, it is also necessary to help them understand that the world is not only academic, but parents must also know that the happiness of children is more important than academics.

In recent years, the Education Bureau has introduced measures to prevent school children from committing suicide. However, he admits that there is no "magic bullet" for solving the problem of suicide. It is not a policy launched today and will be effective the next day. The Director-General of the Samaritan Suicide Prevention Society has continued to refer to the fact that the schoolchildren of the two years ago are now "suicide chaos". For some time, the suicide cases of school children were concentrated before the start of school until October, but there was no significant peak in 2017. The extent to which society pays attention to schoolchildren’s suicide is reduced.

The youngest helper is only 7 years old. Most young people are asking for help from family problems.

Data on help received from the Samaritan Suicide Prevention Program showed that the reason for group assistance for 19 years old or younger was most related to family, followed by academic problems.

Any hero of the Samaritan Suicide Prevention Suicide Crisis Center, Yongxiong, revealed that the youngest helper who came to ask for help was only 7 years old and was referred by the regional center.

Zeng Zhanguo added that generally younger helpers mainly face family problems, but most parents are reluctant to admit that they have problems with their discipline. They have to wait until the school social worker or regional center finds problems and intervene, and will come to Samaria after half a push. Preventing suicide will follow up.

New mobile app "Chat窿" caters to the trend of communication

In addition to the suicide crisis centre, the Samaritan Suicide Prevention Society also provides helpline hotlines and online truth rooms. However, young people are less likely to call for help and use online help services from 10 to 19 The number of people aged has dropped from 961 in 2016 to 543 last year.

Huang Yourong revealed that a mobile app called "Chat窿" will be launched on August 22. The user interface is similar to the general communication program. The helper can talk to the volunteers anonymously, so as to solve the problem with the familiarity of young people.

Quite Wrong!

80% of 1997 migrants re-flow back to HK during 2000's massively from Canada, Singapore, Australia etc. 2010 onwards, massively migrated into mainland and setup businesses and families in mainland and refused to return to HK. Hongkies got children born and bread now in mainland already working in mainland. The earliest batch already have children in mainland.

Currently the only out-going migrants from HK either move to mainland or non-western states, because Ang Moh are in deep shit. They fled HK because HK is a rotting mess due to abuse of freedom. Li Ka Shing one of them, and he fled to (moved his $$$ to) Cayman Islands, because HK bastards occupied Central & Mongkok and rioted non-stop, businesses thus gone very bad and unstable.
