Carpenter jailed for setting colleague on fire
Published on Oct 31, 2011
A carpenter who splashed thinner on a colleague and set him on fire was jailed four years on Monday.
Kuu Siau Lam, 65, pleaded guilty to causing grievous hurt to Malaysian Kee Yau Chong, 23, at Senang Crescent in Bedok on June 11.
A district court heard that Mr Kee had accidentally bumped into Kuu at their workplace, SH Indeco, and walked away.
Kuu got angry and started scolding and abusing the victim for not apologising to him. A heated argument ensued.
He then went to the pantry area and filled a metal mug with thinner and approached the victim to continue arguing with him.
