You mean like M'sia? I doubt so. Singapore's system is too immatured and fractured and skew towards a strong founding party. Singapore has already enjoyed a strong leader with charisma for so many year - and clamour for the next leader too be more with the people aspirations.
A coalition formed for the sake of forming a government will be weak and ineffective - like the present Australian PM.
we still have a long way to go.
maybe in 10 - 15 years,if the opposition parties are a force.
i think there are simply too many opposition parties, the "good" candidates with talents are spread thin.
can start with winning a few more single seat and then build-on it.
for the opposition to be a force, they must at least win an GRC.
May that day never happen. If, God Allah Rama and Buddha forbid, it comes to another party beating the PAP, it really better be that one party wins an outright majority. I am sure a coalition government will cripple and destroy Singapore.
