Yesterday, Yu Foo Yee-Shoon says that Singaporean have dignity and will not ask for help easily when she was asked why the low rate of dispersion from ComCare Fund.


"Singaporeans have this dignity, they don't casually ask for help. But I want to tell those who really need help, it's not a shame to ask for help."

But today, we have Ho Geok Choo urging the Govt to be wary of Singaporeans making a career out of being poor and asking for handouts.

'By all means give help to the needy but we must ensure that we don't in the process make being needy a new growth industry and acceptable career.'

With $18k MP allowance in her pocket every month, PAP MP Ho Geok Choo thinks Govt handouts are so lucrative that poor people may chose to make a career out of it. If thats the case, then why the low rate of dispersion from ComCare fund?
