A simple case of the EMPEROR HAS NO CLOTHES syndrome. The porlumpars are there to get business from the MIW - like those fellas who supplied funeral blankets for PAP constitutiences, or the bugger who conducted training for the CCs.

I can see a great change in him in the last few days, from being confident and arrogant during nomination day to being the first ever prime minister to admit and apologise for mistakes.

During these events, YPAP participants were clearly told not to make the ministars look bad, and to preferably ask questions from a prepared list. Those who defied this norm would find themselves sidelined and leadership appointments not renewed.

If this were true, and I think it is, any current MP who rose from grassroots level got onto the slate because they had toed the party line all the way. Those who thought independently or in the interest of the people would have been purged.

how not to be blinded by the smoke put up by the grassroot leaders? I have personally witness, before minister visit, the ground are swept so clean, you can't even find a fallen leave. The paint work around the walkabout areas were touch up last minute. The residents are asked to clap when the big shot arrived. What would you feel when you stepped into an estate with people clapping for you and everywhere appeared to be well maintained? I strongly suggest Mr Minister , do make surprise visit and not pre-announced one , do not let the grassroot cover up the unslightly and swept the dirt under carpet. Go take a MRT during peak hour unplanned. Go eat at hawker center at poorer estates in Singapore and experience first hand the problem faced by true blue working singaporean and you will reliase that the ground is not as sweet as your grassroot leaders claimed to be. With more and more frustration building up every year, does it take a scholar to find out why people are not giving birth ?
